Traffic & Transit, a national transportation publication, recently featured the Rural Transportation Research Roadmap, a project for which Institute for Transportation Researcher John Shaw is the Iowa State University (ISU) project manager.

The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) 20-122 project is led by Western Transportation Institute (WTI) Principal Investigator Jaime Sullivan, who is also the director of the National Center for Rural Road Safety. ISU serves as a partner on the NCHRP-sponsored project.

The fast-tracked project is laying out a vision for the future of rural transportation research in the United States through a multi-modal compilation of transportation rural research needs.

The Traffic & Transit article, “Mapping the Future of Rural Transportation Research,” is available here, and more on the WTI-led project is available here.
