Wood earns Tom Maze award from ITE’s Iowa Section
Institute for Transportation (InTrans) Faculty Affiliate Jonathan Wood earned the Tom Maze Educational Professional of the Year from the Institute of Transportation Engineers’ (ITE’s) Iowa Section.
The award, which is named after an early director of InTrans, “recognizes an educator who has made an outstanding contribution to transportation related professions by connecting academic studies to the actual practice of transportation,” per the nomination form.
It further seeks to recognize transportation educators who “help their students advance their professional development, enhance their opportunities to network with practicing transportation professionals, and become active participants in the profession.”
Wood, who is also an assistant professor in Iowa State University’s Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering Department, received the recognition at ITE’s Iowa Section Annual Meeting in November 2025.
