About the research

Successful development of the IntelliProg platform will produce major advancements in extending battery life while ensuring the overall safety of the battery, and will potentially lead to development of battery-powered vehicles that are more reliable and efficient than current models. A lithium ion (li-ion) battery system with improved reliability and safety is relevant to the Midwest Transportation Centers’s theme, Data Driven Performance Measures for Enhanced Infrastructure Condition, Safety, and Project Delivery, since it will provide a cost-effective, and highly reliable and safe energy storage solution to transportation electrification.
